When it comes to bucket list Greece - typically three scenes come to mind; ancient history in Athens, whitewashed walls and boldly colored domes of the islands, and the very best beaches in all of Europe.
Over the years we've sent plenty of families to Greece. Together with our amazing team on the ground in Greece, we've perfected this itinerary for a bucket list family adventure. And yes, it includes time to immerse your family in each of these three iconic scenes!

Here are some of the highlights.
Discover Ancient Greece
From your first moment in Athens, history is all around you. Step back in time and reflect on the splendor, power and wealth of this capital city, and admire from up-close the unique architectural and artistic masterpieces of timeless Greece.

Most families only spend about 24 hours in Athens, which is really all you need to introduce the children to the most impressive ancient ruins and history of the city. Set out on a private, guided tour to the most famous monument of the country, the Acropolis. You will have the opportunity to marvel and learn about the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and of course the Parthenon, all located on the sacred rock of the Acropolis.
Explore the Island of Winds - Mykonos
Mykonos might be famous worldwide for its crazy nightlife and its endless parties, but here's a little secret - it's also a fun island for families to explore. And on this itinerary, it's the perfect embarkation point for the "under sail" portion of your trip. Mykonos is, after all, considered the "island of winds."

Mykonos is a tiny island, so you can do a lot in a short amount of time. Be sure to rent a car, as there are only about 50 taxis on the whole island!
Perhaps most importantly, unlike Santorini where the beaches are made up of rocks, Mykonos has lovely sandy beaches.
Cyclades by Yacht
And finally, we get to exploring the Greek islands under sail. The islands are ideal for sailing, and we can't think of a better experience than chartering a sailboat with skipper and hostess for a super fun adventure.
The islands of the south Aegean are the best-known and include the Cyclades, Dodecanese and the eastern Sporades islands of Ikaria, Samos and Fourni. Some of the best Greek Islands to visit, you’ll find the traditional images of Greek white houses and churches. Your itinerary can be customized based on your interests, and will be quite flexible throughout to account for the weather and other unknowns.

Spend the next several days exploring long white sandy beaches with turquoise crystal waters, small beaches surrounded by huge cliffs or pine and palm forests, beaches with waters as if bleached water was mixed with the blue color of the Mediterranean.
And unlike Mykonos, you might well have these all to yourself. The greek islands in all their variety really do offer the ultimate in yacht charter destinations!
For 2021, this itinerary is pricing around 3,000 Euro per person. And now is the time to start planning! Contact us today to get started.
