Where to Travel in 2022

As more and more Americans become vaccinated against Covid-19, eagerness to travel is on the rise.
People are ready to travel again!
But as the world gets back to normal, typical travel booking patterns are proving to be anything but normal.
Here are a few destinations where we are already seeing increased demand and space booking up a year or more in advance. If you're thinking about taking any of these trips with your family in the next few years - RIGHT NOW is the time to get them booked.
Galapagos
Six hundred miles off the coast of Ecuador lies the Galápagos Archipelago. The islands, kept isolated for thousands of years, are known for their famously fearless wildlife and as a source of inspiration for Darwin's theory of evolution.
There are only a few land-based accommodation options in the Galapagos. Historically many travelers experienced the Galapagos via small ship cruises or private boat charters. But with travelers remaining hesitant about cruising in any form, no matter how small, the land-based options are in high demand.
Galapagos Safari Camp is one of our favorites and while we're able to find space here in 2022, it's becoming increasingly difficult with every passing day.
Islands of Greece and Croatia
As of today (February 2021) it's still unclear when Europe will fully reopen. And while travel to Europe's cities will also be bucket list experiences, it could be a year or two for these cities to full reopen.
But the Mediterranean coastline, home to ancient history, that alluring culture and lifestyle, and unique island experiences will very likely be the first to reopen. With a short summer season, tourism-dependent businesses along the coast of Croatia and Greece are particularly eager to reopen.
We're seeing a rush of inquiries for private boat charters in Croatia and Greece, and it's easy to understand why! Perhaps the perfect post-pandemic European experience, exploring the islands of Croatia or Greece offers a classic European experience in a safe, socially distanced way.
African Safari
A Safari in Africa is perhaps the ultimate bucket list family trip. Nothing quite compares to the unique safari camps, in-your-face wildlife and big game, fascinating guides and colorful culture.
Even pre-covid, we always advise planning a safari in Africa 12 - 18 months in advance. Most safari properties are small, with between 6- 12 rooms, so securing space at the best properties has always required planning well in advance. And for experiences that require permits, such as gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, advance planning is now critical.
