The Best Things to do in Los Cabos Mexico with Kids

Located at the very end of the Baja California Peninsula, Los Cabos is an area that includes the cities of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

The area is generally arid, with stunning mountains inland, and wide open beaches along the coast. The beaches here are dramatic and lively, in stark comparison to the calm blue Caribbean waters on the other side of the country.

Cabo is a great family destination as it's safe, easy to navigate and offers so much to do. Here are a few of our favorite things to do in Los Cabos Mexico with Kids.

Private Boat Charter to Land's End

Located at the southern end of Cabo San Lucas and sandwiched between Playa del Amour and Playa del Divorcio, the Land's End rock formations were created from the rough winds and seas of the southern Baja Peninsula.

Here you can spot sea lions and during certain times of the year, whales. Our captain likes to head right to Land's End, then head along the Pacific mountainside of Pedregal along the shoreline to either Santa Maria or Chileno Bay (depending on water conditions).

Spend the afternoon swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing before heading back to the marina.

Swim with Whale Sharks

Whale sharks are the true “gentle giants” of the oceans. The largest fish on the planet, these gentle beasts return yearly to the coast just off La Paz. 

This is a nice day trip from Cabo, or spend the night in La Paz to explore a different side of Baja California Sur. La Paz is unique as a whale shark destination because the sharks tend to be around most of the year, and the local operators have taken extraordinary measures to ensure their safety and conservation.

After a magical hour or so with the sharks, head over to Balandra Bay, a natural protected area with pristine beaches bordered by mangroves and the rugged beauty of the surrounding hills and desert. Enjoy lunch on the beach, explore short hikes, or snorkel the clear waters.
