Festive Season 2021 - Why NOW is the Time to Book

Updated: Apr 9, 2021

Consider this a Public Service Announcement. If you are thinking about traveling over the holidays this year, please don't delay in getting your travel plans confirmed.

While the weeks over the Christmas and New Years holidays are always peak travel dates, this year is looking like it will be something for the record books.

As the world re-opens ... people want to travel! Spend time with loved ones. Adventure!

So this week I'm sharing a few ideas with you. We've spent the past few weeks booking these destinations for clients, and have a good feel for what's available and what's not.

Here are a few ideas and places we've confirmed that (as of this writing in April 2021) DO have space and are open for December 2021 festive season.

Scrub Island British Virgin Islands

In December, you want to head as far south as possible for the warmest weather. And the Virgin Islands will check all the boxes.

Scrub Island is accessed via Tortola, where their private boat takes you to the property. But here you'll discover rare value for money in the Caribbean. I love their multi-room villas, ideal for families complete with gourmet kitchens, expansive terraces and plenty of space to spread out. Choose from 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-bedroom floor plans.

Kauai Hawaii - Grand Hyatt

Hawaii is also a great place to spend the holidays. Maui is always a sure bet, but don't forget about Kauai. For active families - there is nothing better! My family loved packing up a cooler every day and heading into the national park for some hiking, follows by lazy afternoons on a different beach each day.

The Grand Hyatt has a spectacular pool area and fun beach with big waves. Expect 5 and 6 night minimum stays over peak festive season, but on December 30th that drops to 3 nights. Consider combining Maui with Kauai for a perfect Hawaiian adventure!

Hotel Esencia, Riviera Maya

This property is a true hidden gem. Mexico's Riviera Maya could not be more easy to reach in terms of travel - plenty of flights from the US. Arrive and within an hour you're on the beach at Hotel Esencia!

Hidden away in the jungle, this property has what I would consider the best beach in the entire region!

Over the holidays they have a 4 Night minimum and just about all room categories have space available. If you're thinking Mexico - this is a perfect option!

Bocas Bali, Bocas del Toro Panama

Bocas Bali is an exciting new property in Bocas del Toro Panama, on the Caribbean Sea near the edge of Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park. This quirky archipelago of islands has long been home to several moderate hotels on the main island in Bocas Town and private homes, a haven for surfers, but this new luxury overwater hotel offers access to Bocas in comfort and style.

A 10- to 15-minute boat ride from Bocas Town, Bocas Bali’s Frangipani Island is centrally located within the Bocas Del Toro archipelago of eight major islands.

On the far side of our island, Dolphin Bay serves as a serene nursing ground for young dolphins. A small island directly across from the overwater villas is teeming with Frigates, Boobies, and Pelicans.

Crafted in Bali, Indonesia, these villas and 100-year-old Elephant House restaurant were shipped to Panama!

Spend your days on a SUP or in a Kayak, snorkeling, boating to the Zapatilla Islands, and checking out the abundant wildlife above and below water (amazing dolphins all around!)
